As the evenings begin to get cooler, but not quite cool enough for the winter woollies, we need to call on some VIPs (very important pieces) to take us into the next season. Most are pieces that will never go out of fashion, so you can bring them out year after year
Denim is the perfect transeasonal piece, taking you into winter and back out again. Layer it with your all-important body suit and if you have been flirting with the idea of double denim, now is the time to whip it out – just keep it all in the same shade (mixing it up too much can cause fashion confusion and pictures that you may cringe to look back on!)
Through the season change we are still seeing delicious yellows with muted greens and mochas. But for those who love a splash of colour, rest assured that the bold is still beautiful. There’s nothing like a pop of colour to take you through the colder months, and for warmer wrists – stack your bangles!
White boots are making their mark again, tread with caution as not one boot will suit all. Try a few different styles, if you are still not sure, choose tan or black, they are so much easier to incorporate into your existing wardrobe and will become one of your style staples. Country style boots are a personal favourite and a tan mid calf or ankle boot will suit almost every outfit. Pop them on with your prettiest floral dress and denim jacket, under jeans or with a flowing skirt, these will be your go-to boots all season
Socks with heels? This is one of those cheeky little trends that has been trying to creep up on us and now is the time to embrace it. Start subtly with some cute little sock-etts and heels just peeking out beneath your jeans, then slowly work into the full look with a pair of killer heels, animal print socks and your favourite frock. What a fabulous way to keep your toes warm – the question is, are you brave enough?
The top pick of this season is the versatile bodysuit. This simple yet all important piece has cemented itself as one of the most important basics in our wardrobes. Wear it with your favourite jeans, under a flowing dress for extra warmth or with a gorgeous floral skirt. The options are endless and with so many different colour choices you can always be in fashion
